Delay to environment reforms shows what WA wants, WA gets
The decision to delay reform of federal environmental laws underscores the stranglehold the resources states have on the next election.
Phillip CooreyPolitical editorPeter Dutton popped up in Perth this week and, as is de rigueur for a visiting federal politician to the west, the Opposition Leader was required to pledge fealty to bad policy.
“Will you still commit to WA’s share of the GST? Not say one thing here in Perth, but something else in Brisbane or Melbourne or Sydney. Are you on board with WA’s share of the GST?” he was asked on radio 6PR.
